The pull up is a fantastic exercise to develop strength and muscle in the back and upper body. Often the problem is that many individuals can’t do enough repetitions to get the work done required.
To remedy this, rack chins are a great alternative. As Judy demonstrates in the video below, the set up allows your bodyweight to be supported in addition to allowing you to add resistance as you are able.
This exercise can either be used at the beginning of your workout with more weight or at the end as a “finisher”. Make sure you retract your shoulder blades and engage your back.
