If you’ve been around the weight room chatter in the last few years, there is no doubt that you have probably overheard talk of HMB and its benefits with recovery against strength training. Well? Does it hold up to the hype? In study and in theory, yes.  HMB is a metabolite of the amino acid Leucine. Leucine alone is one of the MOST anabolic aminos for turning on the growth. Direct interaction with MTOR pathways set you in overdrive for muscle protein synthesis and recovery.

New studies published here in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition show that its not just for the hardcore iron lovers, but also a very helpful tool for endurance athletes. Within this study, the results show a favorable bump in oxygen expenditure and time to failure during training.While you can do this naturally over time with the use of HIIT (high intensity interval training), HMB alone has shown to give you quicker result on aerobic activity than with HIIT alone. Not only increasing working capacity, but also protecting your hard earned muscle!
