Purus Labs SLINshot™ represents a truly novel product stemming from an exciting field of research amongst dietary supplements involving blood glucose disposal and nutrient uptake into skeletal muscle. This product has applications far reaching, from aiding the combined 80.6 million people in the United States diagnosed with diabetes and pre-diabetes (ADA www.diabetes.org) with blood sugar control to increasing athletic performance/recovery through enhanced nutrient uptake and potential glycogen (the stored form of glucose widely used as an energy source during moderate to high intensity exercise) storage. We will, for now, focus on SLINshot™ as it pertains to the athlete.
Benefits Include:
Increased nutrient absorption and utilization within muscle tissue
Enhanced energy utilization and glycogen resynthesis
Improved carbohydrate metabolism

Training tip of the month:
Superset opposing bodyparts
Try to super set opposing body parts for a dual benefit of increased efficiency and fantastic pumps. This method is beneficial for those short on time or as a shock to the system that will ignite new growth! Here’s how to do it:
1. Pick an exercise to train the primary body part for that workout
2. Identify an exercise that targets the opposing muscle group
3. Perform first exercise to failure, immediately followed by second exercise with no rest for 3-5 sets
Example: Wide grip bench press (chest)
Lat pulldown (back)

Nutri-Sport Supplement Tip: Betaine (TMG)
This amino acid Betaine (or TMG short for trimethylglycine), while isn’t necessarily a ‘sexy’ supplement, and originally was touted for lowering the risk of heart disease, if getting more muscle and strength is one of your goals, we highly recommend it.
Based on research done in 2013 in the Journal of the International Study of Sports Nutrition, Betaine was found to increase muscle mass by 4lbs and specifically, arm size 10%. Squat and bench press volume increased significantly too. The placebo group had no effect.
The recommended dosage is 1.25 grams twice per day. We recommend taking it pre and post workout. It is often an ingredient in many pre-workouts, so in the case yours contained and effective dose of betaine, then post workout would just need to be supplemented.
So add betaine on the list for scientifically proven supplements to add to your cabinet.
