Ever hear these things? Having a training partner is a good thing. Having a training partner who also has a critical eye (with the mindset of improvement) is an great asset!
For those who don’t have a training partner (or don’t have one with the training knowledge needed) a video camera and self-evaluation is highly beneficial as well.
As Mike explains in the video below, there are several key things that should be observed while someone is squatting.
Next time you’re spotting someone or recording your own squats, look for these aspects:
- Choose a side angle (great for observation)
- Heel position
- Knee placement (efficiency)
- Depth
- Elbow position (tightness)
- Bar path (straight line)
- Form maintains
